Task: Floor Repair/Ext. Painting & Cleaning
Overview: This was our first project with Habitat for Humanity. The day was full of rain, but it did not take away from the energy and excitement. When we arrived, we met with our local members and those of guiding us from Habitat for Humanity. They shared with us about their rich history and prepared us for a busy day.
Our tasks for the day included: securing plastic covering under the house, scrubbing and pressure washing the vinyl siding and deck, and removing the tile, flooring and joists. The home-owner looked on in amazement and appreciation as we removed the pieces that would need to be repaired. At the end of the day we were tired and ready for the Sabbath, but happy to have been a part in this community service.
We were thankful for the opportunity and have been excited by the positive feedback.
“I spoke with Tim Ziemer—site supervisor during the Living Church of God’s volunteer shift on Fri. 1/10—and he raved about your group! He said it was a very productive and high-spirited day—this is fantastic to hear!”
-Beth Reichert, Volunteer Coordinator
A big THANK YOU to everyone that was involved!
